Here is an excellent opportunity to gain or formalise your project management skills. PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured method for effective project management. It is a de facto standard used extensively in the UK and internationally. PRINCE2 offers best-practice guidance on project management. The PRINCE2 method is flexible and adaptable for any type and size of project and offers excellent management foundation for any member of staff. This is an examination-based PRINCE2 instructor led training course. Delegates will attain accreditation at PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner level. Delegates will be provided with pre-study materials which need to be completed before the course. Some evening study will be required during the course to assist in preparation of the exam. The training equips delegates with a detailed knowledge of the PRINCE2 methodology, working through each stage of pre-project preparation and the project lifecycle. The course consists of practical self-study sessions followed by highly focussed physically attended sessions. Both the self-study and physical sesssions are delivered by an APM Group approved trainer with practical experience of project management. The initial part of the course consists of a series of short highly focussed videos which have unrestricted access for the course attendee. We provide comprehensive guidance to using these as your intial study aid. Activities include quizzes based on the PRINCE2 syllabus to let you review your learning.
A pre-event preparation pack including reading material, practice tests and specially written software is sent to the attendee. The course is built around the latest AXELOS PRINCE2 syllabus and features an interesting case study and relevant examples to illustrate the PRINCE2 method and help delegates understand its concepts.
The period of guided self-study will take you around 15 to 20 hours. This will allow you to cover the full Foundation Examination's learning objectives and complete a mock examination. The actual Foundation Examination can be taken online prior to attending the physical session or alternatively on the first morning of the two day classroom event. Once you've attained Foundation status, you attend a highly focussed 2 day event which concludes with you sitting the Practitioner Examination.
